He is also Vice-Principal, Professor & Head, Dept of Prosthodontics at Sri Venkateswara Dental College, Chennai. A graduate & best outgoing student in BDS from Annamalai University and he completed his MDS from Kolkatta University in Prosthodotics in 1993. Dr V. Rangarajan has given numerous lectures and conducted many workshops to promote dentistry and oral health in india & abroad. He is one of the first dental specialists in India to receive the Diplomate in Oral Implantology from the International Congress of Oral Implantologists in 2003 for his outstanding work in the subject.
