Medicinal Benefits of Alpa M Oral Suspension

MEFENAMIC ACID+TIZANIDINE is a combination drug that contains 'mefenamic acid' and 'Tizanidine.' Mefenamic acid belongs to a group of medicines called NSAID (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug) used to provide relief from mild to moderate pain associated with period pain, symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS), and management of excessively heavy periods. MEFENAMIC ACID+TIZANIDINE works by blocking the effect of a chemical messenger in your body, known as cyclo-oxygenase (COX) enzymes that make another chemical 'prostaglandins' (PG). These prostaglandins are produced at injury sites and cause pain and swelling. By blocking COX enzymes' effect, lesser PGs are produced, which reduces mild to moderate pain and inflammation at the injured or damaged site.  Tizanidine works in the centres of the spinal cord and brain. This helps relax the muscles of the intestine or stomach and hence stops muscle contractions. Collectively, both of them help to relieve pain, bloating, cramps and discomfort caused.
