About Clotop ND Cream

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN belongs to the class of dermatological medication, primarily used to treat bacterial skin infections. Bacterial infection occurs when harmful bacteria grow in the body and causes infection. It can infect any part of the body and multiply very quickly.

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN consists of two medicines, namely: Clobetasol (corticosteroid) and Nadifloxacin (antibacterial). Clobetasol is a highly potent corticosteroid with anti-inflammatory, antipruritic (relieves itching) and vasoconstrictive (narrows blood vessels) properties. It blocks the production of chemical mediators of inflammation (such as kinins, histamine, liposomal enzymes, prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. On the other hand, Nadifloxacin is an antibacterial drug. It is bactericidal and works by killing bacteria that cause infections. It prevents bacterial growth by inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria. Nadifloxacin is a broad-spectrum antibiotic against most Gram-negative bacteria, many Gram-positive bacteria and some anaerobic bacteria (that lives without oxygen).

Medicinal Benefits of Clotop ND Cream

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN treats bacterial skin infections by killing and preventing the growth of bacteria. CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN is a combination of two medicines, namely: Clobetasol and Nadifloxacin. Clobetasol is a corticosteroid and blocks the production of chemical mediators of inflammation, making the skin red, swollen and itchy. It effectively treats inflammation and itching caused by plaque psoriasis (skin cells build up to form itchy scales and dry patches) and other skin conditions. On the other hand, Nadifloxacin is an antibacterial drug that prevents the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. It is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic and is also used to treat acne vulgaris.

Directions for Use

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN is available in the form of cream. Cream: Apply the cream onto clean, dry, unbroken skin affected by the infection. Apply it once or twice a day or as suggested. Do not use CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN on the face and avoid contact with eyes, mouth and nose. Do not put a bandage or a dressing on the affected area while using CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN unless advised by the doctor.

Drug Warnings

Brief your medical history to doctor, if you are allergic to CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN or any of its components. Therapy with topical corticosteroids like Clobetasol should be administered cautiously in patients with bacterial, fungal, viral and protozoa infections. Let your doctor know if you have any history of liver, kidney diseases, glaucoma, cataract, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, diabetes and adrenal gland diseases. CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN is not recommended for diaper rash since it may be rapidly absorbed and can cause adrenal suppression, Cushing's syndrome (high cortisol levels) and intracranial hypertension (increased pressure around the brain) in infants.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction:

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN may interact with other corticosteroids (prednisone), and drugs that lower the immune system (cyclosporine).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN is contraindicated in fungal, viral, protozoa infections, liver, kidney diseases, glaucoma, cataract, poor blood circulation, immune system problems, diabetes and adrenal gland diseases.

PREGNANCY

There is limited data on how the CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN affects pregnancy. CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN may be unsafe to use during pregnancy since it affects the baby. Please consult your doctor if you are planning to become pregnant or already pregnant before starting CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN.

BREAST FEEDING

It is not known if CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN passes into the breast milk. Please consult your doctor before taking CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN if you are breastfeeding. If you need to apply the cream or ointment on your breasts, don't do this shortly before giving a feed.

DRIVING

There have been no studies to investigate the effect of CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN on driving performance or the ability to operate machinery.

LIVER

Let your doctor know if you have any history of liver diseases before taking CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN.

KIDNEY

Let your doctor know if you have any history of kidney diseases before taking CLOBETASOL+NADIFLOXACIN.
