CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE belongs to a group of medications called ‘antianxiety medications’ used in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Anxiety is a mental health disorder characterized by feelings of anxiety, worry, or fear that are strong enough to interfere with one’s daily activities. Symptoms of anxiety include rapid breathing, increased heart rate, restlessness, trouble concentrating, and difficulty falling asleep.

CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE is a combination of two drugs: clonazepam and escitalopram oxalate. Clonazepam produces a calming effect by suppressing the abnormal activity of nerve cells. Escitalopram oxalate increases the serotonin hormone levels that improve mood, behavior, and cognition in patients with anxiety.

Common side-effects of CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE are nausea, headache, dizziness, confusion, drowsiness, fatigue, sleeping problems, breathlessness, and poor coordination of movements, stomach upset, decreased libido (low sexual desire), and memory problems. Consult your doctor if the side effects persist or worsen.

Do not take CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE if you are allergic to any of its components. CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE is a combination of two medicines: clonazepam and escitalopram oxalate. It is used to treat anxiety disorders. Clonazepam increases the effect of gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and produces a calming effect by suppressing the abnormal activity of nerve cells. Escitalopram oxalate is a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI); it increases the serotonin levels in the brain, thereby improving mood and behavior.

Directions for Use

Swallow CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction:

CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE may interact with other antianxiety drugs, monoamine oxidase inhibitors (selegiline and moclobemide), opioids, or strong pain killers, sedatives, anti-arrhythmic drugs, a medication used to treat heartburn (cimetidine) and antibiotics (rifampicin and linezolid).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE should be used with caution in patients with seizures, schizophrenia, liver diseases, diabetes, heart diseases, sleep disorders, and bleeding disorders.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Do not take alcohol with CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE as it can increase the risk of side effects such as dizziness and drowsiness.

PREGNANCY

CLONAZEPAM+ESCITALOPRAM OXALATE may cause toxic effects on the fetus. So, it is not recommended for use in women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. Consult your doctor for further advice.

BREAST FEEDING
