About Pantec Plus Tablet

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE belongs to a class of medication called gastrointestinal agents used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and peptic ulcers. Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) occurs when stomach acid frequently flows back into the food pipe (oesophagus). Peptic ulcers are sores that develop on the inner lining of the intestine and stomach.

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE is a combination of two drugs, namely: Mosapride (gastroprokinetic agent) and Pantoprazole (proton pump inhibitor). Mosapride increases the movement of the food pipe (oesophagus), small intestine and stomach.  It enhances bowel movement and empties the digestive tract from the food in a shorter time. Thereby, it helps in preventing acid reflux and provides relief from hyperacidity and heartburn. Pantoprazole works by blocking the action of proton pumps that are involved in producing stomach acid. Thereby, it reduces the amount of acid produced by the stomach and prevents excess acid from flowing back into the food pipe.

Medicinal Benefits of Pantec Plus Tablet

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE contains Mosapride and Pantoprazole. Mosapride is a gastroprokinetic agent that increases the movement of the food pipe (oesophagus), small intestine and stomach. Directions for Use

Take MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE on an empty stomach as advised by your doctor and swallow whole with a glass of water. Do not crush, chew or break it.

Drug Warnings

If you are allergic to MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE or any other medicines, please tell your doctor. MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE is not recommended for children below 12 years of age. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, please consult a doctor before taking MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE.  MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE should be used with caution in elderly patients due to the increased risk of adverse effects. You are advised to drink plenty of water while taking MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE to avoid dehydration. Drive only if you are alert as MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE may cause dizziness or vision disturbances. Avoid alcohol consumption as it may increase the production of stomach acid and worsen the symptoms. Inform your doctor if you have any risk factors for reduced vitamin B12 as MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE may reduce the absorption of vitamin B12. You are not recommended to use more than the prescribed dose as it may cause severe adverse effects.

Drug Interactions

Drug-Drug Interaction:

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE may interact with antifungals (itraconazole, ketoconazole, posaconazole), anticancer drugs (erlotinib, methotrexate), blood thinner (warfarin, phenprocoumon), antiretroviral drug (atazanavir), antidepressant (fluvoxamine), antibiotics (rifampicin, erythromycin), antipsychotics (haloperidol).

Drug-Disease Interaction:

 If you have bleeding in the stomach or intestine, low magnesium levels in blood, lupus (an autoimmune disorder), osteoporosis (weak and brittle bones), kidney, liver or heart problems, inform your doctor before taking MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE.

Safety Advice

ALCOHOL

Avoid alcohol consumption as it may lead to increased production of stomach acid, thereby irritates the stomach lining and worsen the symptoms.

PREGNANCY

Please consult a doctor if you are pregnant. MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE is given to pregnant women if the doctor thinks benefits are greater than risks.

BREAST FEEDING

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE is given to breastfeeding mothers if the doctor thinks benefits are greater than risks. Please consult a doctor if you are breastfeeding.

DRIVING

MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE may cause dizziness or vision disturbances in some people. Therefore, avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel any of these side effects after taking MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE.

LIVER

Take MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE with caution, especially if you have a history of Liver diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.

KIDNEY

Take MOSAPRIDE+PANTOPRAZOLE with caution, especially if you have a history of Kidney diseases/conditions. The dose may be adjusted by your doctor as required.
