All patients with knee pain have a knee cap that is under point load due to malalignment and a knee cap that has restricted movement on the inner side of the leg. Depending on the duration of the problem there are associated tightness of the muscles around the knee. hip and ankle. We manage knee pain by offloading the knee cap, mobilizing the knee cap and stretching out the tight musculature. We feel this is a direct targeted approach to the problem in comparison to the other indirect measures to manage knee pain.
