Dr. Chandrakant Rao is Director of the Wise Cardio-Diabetes and Obesity Centre located at Wanowrie in Pune. He is also a Consultant Diabetologist at Inamdar Multispeciality Hospital and Ruby Hall Clinic. He is in charge of the Pregnancy and Diabetes Clinic at Gupte Hospital, located off Bhandarkar Road near Deccan Gymkhana. After graduating (MBBS), Dr. Rao obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes from Nair Hospital and Raheja Hospital, Mumbai, in 2004. He has lectured at KEM Diabetes Unit, Pune. During his internship and residency, Dr. Rao trained at various hospitals, including CPR Hospital (Kolhapur), Kasturba Hospital (Mumbai), Holy Spirit Hospital (Mumbai), and Parsi General Hospital (Mumbai).Dr. Chandrakant Rao started the Wise Cardio-Diabetes Centre with a view to provide holistic care with special emphasis on patient education. His area of interest is child obesity and he conducts programmes on weight control, in schools.
