About Metrogyl Compound Plus Tablet

DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE is a combination medicine used to treat diarrhoea. Diarrhoea is the condition in which there is a frequent need to empty the bowels. It is characterized by loose and watery stools. DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE helps treat asymptomatic intestinal amoebiases such as loose stools, abdominal cramping, and stomach pain. DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE also helps to treat amoebic infections and also provides relief from painful pressure caused by excess gas in the stomach and intestines.
 
DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE is a combination of three drugs, namely: Ornidazole (antiprotozoal), Diloxanide (amoebicide), and Simethicone (anti-foaming agent). Ornidazole kills the bacteria by damaging their DNA. Diloxanide kills the infection-causing micro-organisms by acting on the intestine. Simethicone works by lowering the surface tension of gas bubbles, thereby facilitating the expulsion of gas through flatus or belching (burping). It also prevents the accumulation and formation of gas in the digestive tract. Together, DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE helps in treating diarrhoea.
 
Take DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE with or without food. Swallow DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE as a whole with a glass of water; do not chew or break the tablet. You are advised to take DILOXANIDE+ORNIDAZOLE+SIMETHICONE for as long as your doctor has prescribed it for you depending on your medical condition. In some cases, you may experience certain common side effects such as nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, and flatulence.
