 Friday, September 23, 2016

Armpits are the most common place to develop body odor. The armpits provide a warm and moist environment for bacteria to thrive and sweat glands in this region produce extra proteins and oily substances to feed them. As an offensive body odor can be extremely uncomfortable and embarrassing, many people opt for antiperspirants and deodorants.

But studies have shown that many toxic chemicals could be present in antiperspirants and deodorants, making them harmful. The Breast Cancer Fund (BCF) reported, that common ingredients such as Triclosan , Phthalates and Parabens in these products may cause breast cancer.

What is an armpit cleanse?

Armpit cleanse is more than just changing your deodorant. It’s also a way to detox your body and may help reduce your risk of breast cancer.

How to Do an Armpit Cleanse- Naturally?

-Stop using any chemical based deodorants; instead go for natural cleansers and herbal deodorants.

-Use a loofah while taking a shower, as regular exfoliation helps get rid of the sebum and dead skin remnants in the armpits. You can use a piece of ginger to scrub the area.

To cleanse the armpits, a paste made of one teaspoon of baking soda and water can be applied on your armpits. Leave it for twenty minutes and wash it off.

You can also use fresh lemon juice and dilute it with a small quantity of water.  Apply the liquid on your armpits. Leave it for twenty minutes and wash it off. The citric acid will cleanse the armpits and kill the bacteria. It will also improve body odor.

Drink lots of water as it will naturally detoxify the entire body.

Avoid using razors and harsh chemicals on the skin.

It is advisable to avoid certain foods such as curry, garlic, onion and other strong spices that can stimulate sweating and make the sweat smelly.
