Dr Nilanjana Deb Joardar graduated in Medicine from Calcutta Medical College, residency in Ophthalmology followed by fellowship in Medical Retina and Visual Electrodiagnostics from Sankara Nethralaya, Chennai. She obtained a fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh and completed her M. Phil in Medical and Bioengineering from Claude Bernard University, France. She has been awarded with PhD (Ophthalmology) with distinction from Jean Monnet University, France for her research on corneal preservation. She was the first to perform glaucoma treatment by High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) in the Asian subcontinent as part of collaborative clinical study with Eyetechcare, France. She has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals which have been presented in national and international conferences.
